London Trip 2022
Tue 22 Mar 2022Some of the boys had a very exciting trip this term. Seven students from a mix of the year groups had the opportunity to go to London to do some sightseeing and attend a football match. We left school at 9:30am and drove to the West Ham Football Stadium (Olympic Stadium) and parked there before getting the tube in and around London to various places. We visited Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Southbank, Leicester Square to see where the big film premiers and Covent Garden to watch some street performers. After that, we went for dinner at a pizza restaurant and reflected on what we had seen and learned about during the day. The boys were all very mature and did us proud during their meal at the restaurant. After dinner, we got a tube to the football stadium. The atmosphere was building, as we got closer to the stadium. We took some great photos outside of the stadium and went to West Ham’s official merchandise shop. Taking the students into the stadium was amazing as the atmosphere was electric! There were lots of chants going on that the boys joined in with and lots of cheering. The football went into extra time and the students loved that the match lasted even longer. The extra time delayed us setting off home but the boys spirits were still high. When we eventually did leave the stadium to head home, the boys got in the van happily and were so well behaved. The M4 was closed, which meant we had a very late finish but we were so pleased with how the boys coped with their tiredness and their behaviour was exemplary. Huge credit to all seven of the boys, they did themselves and us proud.
