Computing/ICT/E-Safety
Curriculum Overview:
Key Stage 3
During years 7/8 – Students will be taught about computers, their history, how they work, how they interact with and understand each other and how to program them. This includes using a mixture of graphical and text-based programming via Lego Mindstorm Robots, Minecraft education edition, Scratch and Python.
During year 9 – the students will start working towards gaining qualifications in ICT Functional Skills starting at entry-level 3/Level 1 and raising to Level 2 by year 11 depending on ability. This will include:
· General use, security and settings
· The internet
· Word processing
· Spreadsheets
· Charts and Graphs
· Presentations
· Databases
Key Stage 4
During years 10/11 – the students will work towards gaining qualifications in ICT Functional Skills/Digital Functional Skills and Btec ICT Workskills at Level 1 and rising to Level 2 by year 11 depending on ability. This will include:

- Using devices and handling information
- Creating and editing
