Design Technology
Curriculum Overview:
Design and Technology is the creation, design, manufacture and evaluation of products. At Marland Secondary School, students learn real-world skills in Design and Technology at KS3. Design and Technology provides a hands-on approach to learning. When students progress to KS4, they study the construction industry and gain a GCSE in building skills. Students also do a qualification in engineering where they learn about electronics and to recognise its importance in their own lives and in today's technological society. This vocational approach to learning allows students a taste of the real working world as well as an opportunity to explore different employment sectors, so they can figure out whether it’s right for them.
