Design Technology
Curriculum Overview:
Design and Technology is the creation, design, manufacture and evaluation of products. At Marland Secondary School students learn real world skills in Design and Technology at KS3. Design and Technology provides a hands-on approach to learning. When students’ progress to KS4 they study the construction industry and gain an GCSE in building skills. Students also do a qualification in engineering where they learn about electronics and to recognise its importance in their own lives and in today's technological society. This vocational approach to learning allows students a taste of the real working world as well as an opportunity to explore different employment sectors, so they can figure out whether it’s right for them.
