Science
Curriculum Overview:
Our intent is a Science curriculum that engages and challenges all students. They build on knowledge and skills acquired at KS2 and prepare students to take a GCSE in Biology.
KS3
Through Key Stage 3 our students will:
- develop scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the science curriculum.
- develop understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science through different types of science enquiries that help them to answer scientific questions about the world around them.
- develop the scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future.
- develop the practical knowledge and skills required to carry out scientific enquiries.
- become confident communicators, both in writing and speaking.
KS4
Provides the platform for further studies, establishing the basis for a wide range of careers. For others, it will be a formal qualification, that provide the foundations for understanding the natural world and will enhance their lives in an increasingly technological society.
